Founder Bio – Mrs. Marva Dinwiddie
Mrs. Marva Dinwiddie is the visionary Founder of Skills Connect Academy, bringing over two
decades of impactful service in education. With a passion for developing confident, capable
students, Marva’s career spans a wide range of learning environments—from traditional
classrooms to innovative enrichment spaces.
She possesses deep expertise in Special Education, having worked closely with students of
diverse abilities and learning needs. This experience has equipped her with the skills to connect
with and uplift students on both academic and personal levels.
Marva has also served as a School Social Worker, where she designed and taught essential
social and life skills programs. In addition to these roles, she has led student mentorship
initiatives and parenting classes, demonstrating her commitment to holistic family and student
support.
An entrepreneur and creative educator, Marva is the founder of a dynamic Puppet Theater,
where she teaches public speaking, acting, creative writing, design, and puppetry. Through this
platform, she helps students build confidence and express themselves creatively.
Marva’s leadership extends into the community. She is a proud alumna of the Leadership
McKinney Program, Class of 2023, and is deeply involved in community activism—supporting
shelter homes, group homes, Job Corps participants, and the homeless.
Her dedication to education, creativity, and community service fuels the mission of Skills
Connect Academy, where practical learning meets compassionate guidance, and every child is
empowered to grow into their best self.
